Why we started

MOHRA is independent and self-funded, with no outside investors — so the only people we answer to are the ones wearing our pieces.

What's actually in our pieces

Our signature stone is VVS1 moissanite — a real gemstone with extraordinary brilliance and fire, not glass and not cubic zirconia. Every moissanite piece arrives with a GRA certificate and passes standard diamond testers, so you always know exactly what you're wearing.

Our metals are an 18K gold finish or rhodium finish over a 925 sterling silver base — considered, substantial, and made to last.

We say all of this plainly, because the honesty is the point.

Where our eye comes from

The two of us grew up between two of the world's great traditions of adornment — Indian and Persian — where jewellery has always carried craft, meaning, and beauty worn close to the skin. That heritage quietly shapes everything we make.

The people behind MOHRA

MOHRA was founded in Toronto by Mohan and Nafiseh. Mohan came from banking, and a low tolerance for claims that don't add up. Nafiseh came from beauty, with years spent immersed in jewellery and an eye that reads quality at a glance.

For Nafiseh, jewellery has never been about flash — it's about how a piece makes you feel when you wear it every day. That instinct shapes everything MOHRA makes, from the cut of a stone to the weight of a chain.

Together they built the brand they wished already existed — honest, beautiful, and made to be worn.
